ICAME 2001 - Louvain-La-Neuve

This year's excursion took us to Bruges, a picturesque Belgian town not far away from the sea. The weather was pretty cold but at least it didn't rain - as you can see some of us were prepared - others forgot to bring their coats and felt much better when we got to the restaurant for dinner...

After the tour (and a break of one hour which was enough time for some to go looking for funnily shaped Belgian chocolate and for others to take up the quest for original Belgian beers) we all met again for dinner. Some male participants of the conference will have fond memories of the toilets there...

After dinner, last year's organiser Pam Peters thanked Silviane Granger and her team on the part of all conference participants for a very well organised conference. Then, people were invited to try out the dance floor. Apparently, Silviane had suggested a list of music titles to the DJ - who was sure, after a brief look at the conference participants, that this selection wouldn't go down well with that kind of a crowd. Well, as you can see in the following pictures, he was quite wrong...

Some pictures from "the day after" - after my endless photo terrorism (as one person put it), someone insisted on taking a picture of me, too. So in the interest of fairplay, here it is ;-)

Finally, after all the social events, here are some pictures from the auditorium where many of the presentations took place:

I hope to see you all next year in Gothenburg!
